This view leads to his famous claim that no statement is immune to revision, not even logic or mathematics. Quine proposes that all knowledge—whether logical, mathematical, or empirical—exists within a “holistic web of interconnected beliefs”. Each statement derives meaning and justification not in isolation but in relation to the entire web. When empirical evidence conflicts with a part of this web, any statement in the web (including those traditionally considered analytic) can be revised to restore coherence.
